Roper Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GE Appliances, a Haier company. Opened in 1973, Roper is the largest employer in Walker County, and one of the largest employers in northwest Georgia with more than 2,000 employees.

In June 2019, GE Appliances announced an investment of $43 million at Roper Corporation creating 100 new jobs. The $43 million investment created new manufacturing capacity and several new cooking products were launched.

Roper produces some of America's best cooking products, with more than 300 new appliances (from free-standing electric ranges to wall ovens to cooktops in a variety of finishes and designs) launched over the last two years. The plant produces cooking products for the MonogramĀ®, GEĀ®, GE Profileā„¢ and CAFƉā„¢ brands.

Annually Roper spends $200 million with Georgia-located suppliers and provides more than $100 million in salary and benefits to Georgia workers each year.
