Better Business Bureau Recognizes Roper Corporation for Outstanding Culture

Roper Corporation was recently won an award of high distinction by the Better Business Bureau (BBB). They are the winner of the Torch Awards for Marketplace Ethics. The award honors companies in the Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia area that demonstrate the highest standards of business practices to create trust. According to the BBB, these companies generate a high level of trust among their employees, customers, and their communities. This is the plant's second big award in 2021. Earlier in the year, they were named a "Best Employer: Industrial Manufacturing" by the North Georgia's People's Choice Awards.

More than 2,000 employees work at Roper and are focused on manufacturing over 200 different types of cooking ranges, from freestanding to wall overs and gas counter units. They lead the industry not only in quality, but also in smart cooking appliances. The team, led by Plant Manager Lois Crandell, strives to create a workplace that embraces safety, respect, communication, compliance, diversity and inclusion.  "Our goal for Roper Corporation is for all employees to act with integrity and promote a culture of compliance and ethics," said Crandell. "We want our stakeholders, partners and owners to know we are a business you can trust and as one that operates openly and honestly."

Georgia State Senator Jeff Mullis is one such valued partner and true champion of Roper. "Roper Corporation ensures the wellbeing of its employees and their families through their Wellness Medical Center and contributes to the wellbeing of their community through its commitment to community service," said Mullins in a statement of support for Roper winning the Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. "After a tornado ripped through northwest Georgia in 2020, Roper Corporation sprang into action to provide generators and other lifesaving equipment to the affected region. Roper Corporation also responded to the COVID-19 crisis by donating thousands of masks, face shields, and barriers to local hospitals, clinics, schools, and nursing homes. It is my pleasure to represent the employees of Roper Corporation and to express my support for them in earning this award. They are truly deserving of recognition."

Congratulations to Lois Crandell and the entire Roper Corporation team for shining a light on Georgia's workforce.
